This is the ONLY color study that I made before I started collaging all the fabrics into my "Dove Descending" quilt. The sketch is very, very rough and crudely colored in with crayons and colored markers, but it is all that I need to guide me as I piece the fabrics into the final quilt. It is enough to show me where the major color areas will be and approximately how light will fall over the piece. I will choose my yellows and orange fabrics, very, very carefully! The viewers' eyes will follow the brightest colors.
